CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY |
|
|
Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle pressure to promote the release of tension and dysfunction throughout the body, including the head. It is a wonderfully gentle method of treatment that is especially effective for use on babies and children although it may be used for a wide range of conditions right into old age. The skull is made up of 26 bones which are all intricately joined together to form joints called sutures which allow very small ranges of motion, the rhythmical movement of the bones and associated tissues is called 'involuntary motion'. Impacts to the head and pelvis, physical traumas and birth strains can block or disrupt this movement possibly causing a lasting physical effect and a reduction in health.
